My cousin is accused by her parents of telling frequent lies. She told me yesterday she had a baby in 2010. Should I investigate?

I am from her mother's side of the family so not related to the grandmother she stays with at times.

I know her mother is worried there is a mental illness that needs to be addressed now that her daughter is well into adulthood.

Her mother however has issues to and so has ridiculously high expectations so my cousin only sees her once a year for a day (Christmas Eve). Her father is fine.
